I couldn't recommend South Coast Choi Kwang Do enough. We started in February 2023, and joined the teen and adult class. The instructors are outstanding. Their approach to personal care and individual development is incredible. This is a welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to achieve their objectives in a relaxed and friendly manner. There is a no pressure environment to learning and moving onto grading too quickly, which is appreciated for those who need more time to feel confident. I started this journey because I wanted to inspire my daughter to take control of her insecurities and anxiety, and join this class with me. Neither of us are disappointed. This class has given us strength, knowledge and confidence.
I can recommend this club for people who wish to study a martial art/self defence and to keep fit. All instructors are knowledgeable, patient and respectful of students. Classes are geared for both adults, family and children, the latter class with emphasis on having some fun. Classes are available 4 nights a week at various local venues. Students are mentored to progress through the 'belt system' and regular gradings take place through out the year. The club has a more 'friendly feel' than some other martial arts clubs that I've attended. I only started studying Choi Kwang Do just over 3 years ago aged 63.

If you're looking for a martial art where without fear of getting injured you will learn very good self defence techniques and have fun at the same time, then Choi Kwang Do is the perfect choice. South Coast Choi Kwang Do have 3 different venues and offer up to 7hrs of training weekly, the whole team are very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend these classes.
I joined Choi in September 2022, in a short time my fitness improved and I developed skills and techniques I did not know I was capable of. most importantly Choi has given me self confidence in and outside of class
